The Rotary Club of Grand Bend and the Grand Bend & Area Chamber of Commerce are pleased to host the 2010 Winter Carnival Parade.
 
This year's Winter Carnival theme is "Carry the Torch". Just think of the many possibilities for creating an Olympic-like parade entry! To book your place in the parade, we only require a quick email confirmation including your business or group name and contact information.
 
Remember, the top three parade entries will take home a cash prize!
First Prize: $500
Second Prize: $300
Third Prize: $200

Join us for six days of fun and frolic in Grand Bend.

Traditional events include an snow sculpture contest, fireworks, live entertainment at local hot spots and lots of other family-friendly activities.

Friday, February 5

  • Torch Relay beginning at Muncipal Parking Lot across from FINE A Restaurant.
  • Lighting of the Flame at Paddington's.
  • 6-9pm — Sobey's Drive-in Movie Night. Build your own car and come to the movies. Ages 12 and under.
  • 8pm — Opening Ceremonies.

Saturday, February 6

  • 9am — Sno-Pitch Tournament at the Grand Bend Ball Diamond.
  • 11am — Snow Golf at the Oakwood Inn.
  • 11am — Children's Pinata Party at Paddington's. Mexican theme. Limo contest and more. Call 519-238-5788.
  • 1-8pm — Riverbend Olympics at the Riverbend Bar and Grill.
  • 2pm — Fat Kat Karaoke at Gables. Win prizes.
  • 5-8pm — Spaghetti Dinner at the Grand Bend Legion. Adults $8.00. Children $5.00.
  • 6pm — Fireworks.

Sunday, February 7

  • 1-10:30pm — Veteran's Memorial Mixed Dart Tournament at the Grand Bend Legion. Registration at 1pm. Contact Sam Bell at 519-243-2452 or Bob Chapdelaine at 519-238-2775.

  • Bring Your Own Meat BBQ at Gables. Age of Majority event. Reserve early. Call 519-238-2371.

Saturday, February 13

  • 9am — Sno-Pitch Tournament at the Grand Bend Ball Diamond.
  • 9am — Winter Carnival Craft Show at Pine Dale Motor Inn. Vendors register. Call 519-238-2231.
  • 11am — Rotary/Chamber Parade on Grand Bend's Main Street.
  • 11:30am — Lunch at Grand Bend United Church. $6/person. $3/child age 12 and under.
  • 12-4pm — Children's Amusement Rides in The Colonial's parking lot.
  • 3pm — Search For Talent at Gables. Win prizes. Age of Majority event.
  • 5-8pm — Winter Carnival Steak BBQ at Grand Bend Legion (downstairs). Tickets $12/person. Call 519-238-2120 for tickets.
  • 9pm — Riverbend's Karaoke Contest (age of majority event).

Sunday, February 14

  • 8am — Firemen's Breakfast at the Grand Bend Firehall. $6/person. $3/child aged 5-12. Free for children under age 5. Please bring canned goods for the Food Bank.
  • 10-10:45am — Youth Darts Tournament at the Grand Bend Legion. Registration at 10am. Ages 9-18 years. Free admission. Lunch provided by the Grand Bend Legion. Contact Sam Bell at 519-243-2452 or Bob Chapdelaine at 519-238-2775.
  • 2pm — Waiters' Race at The Colonial's parking lot. Entertainment by Lance Bedard.
  • Children's Talent Show at Oakwood Clubhouse. Free admission. Call 519-238-7325 to register.
  • 6pm — Closing Ceremonies at Grand Bend Legion. Tickets $10/person. Join us as we put out the flame on another Winter Carnival. Dress as your favourite Winter Olympic athlete. Medal presentations for business and community awards and snow sculptures. Carry The Torch Passport Lottery draw at 8pm.
